- ParaNorman
- The Croods
- Hotel Transylvania
All of these were worth watching once (not in a theater), but I wouldn't want to own any of them.
ParaNorman was probably my favorite of the three. It was a little odd, especially at first, and we almost switched to something else. But, the animation was really cool in parts, and it had a really good message about bullying that wasn't shoved in your face repeatedly and obviously. I wouldn't own it, just because it was a little odd, and probably too scary for younger children.
The Croods was meh. Eric and I decided it was because the dad was the only active/dynamic character in the whole movie. Everyone else was pretty static and didn't change. The plot was also fairly predictable. That being said, it did have some good moments here and there--but after rewatching How to Train Your Dragon, it was definitely lacking.
Hotel Transylvania was surprisingly good, but I also was not expecting anything. Again, the movie was predictable as far as plot and characters went, but there were some funny/nice moments here and there.
Really, I'm just waiting for the second How to Train Your Dragon to come out. We need some better movies.
