Not so tiny Claire

We went to our midwife's today and if the scales were accurate, Claire not only got back to her birth weight (8 lbs 3 oz), but surpassed it by quite a bit. She's 8 lbs 8 oz. So not so tiny at the moment--I think all the weight is in her cheeks. **The scales were accurate. She is a little chunk. :)
Claire also got to put her little footprints on the wall at the birth house. Her feet are much cuter than all of the other baby feet.

Reasons not being pregnant anymore is awesome

Being pregnant has its moments, but being not pregnant is much MUCH better for the following reasons (aside from the obvious one of having an adorable baby that I can dress up and snuggle):
  1. I have feet again. They no longer resemble swollen fat pigs attached to the end of cankles. I never appreciated what delightful feet I have until now.
  2. I can see my feet without bending forward.
  3. I can bend forward!
  4. I can sleep on my back, or my stomach, or however I want. Hallelujah.
  5. I can eat uncooked cookie dough. yummmmmm.

The Nana and her tiny cousin. :)

A little later than planned, but I finally finished Claire's baby blanket. It's hard to tell whether she likes it or not, since she always just falls asleep on things, but I'm going to assume that she approves.

Tiny Claire and her aunt Amber

They're either bonding or having a staring contest. Or both.

We carved pumpkins! I was always jealous of those people with cool pumpkins because mine always looked crappy, but apparently they just used stencils. Eric is a genius. Claire's is the tiny one--she wants to scare people.

After another puking fest, I dressed Claire in Pooh clothes. Most of them are too big and kind of make her look like a baby gangster, if gangsters wore Winnie-the-Pooh.

Birthday girl

Yesterday was Claire's 1 week birthday. We celebrated with chocolate silk pie. Claire was so excited, she passed out.

This morning Claire embraced her Fair side. She's swaddled up in her swaddle from Grandma Fair, covered in her monster blanket from Amber, wearing her hat that I made, and resting on her boppy covered in the fancy new cover that Joy made her. :)

And here is Claire looking cute and innocent in her Peter Rabbit suit. This is right after she threw up on her father. Multiple times. And then pooped everywhere. The little stinker (literally and figuratively).

Claire's busy day

Today, after Claire took a long nap (I need to take a picture of Eric sleeping, because he sleeps in the exact same position with his little arms. They're so cute),

And rejected my love and affection,

We tried out her sling. Which I discovered I wasn't using right, which is probably why she wasn't impressed.

Then we went on our first outing together to the grocery store in our delightful new car, which we finally have! I love it.

Claire, yet again, was not impressed. She pretty much slept through the whole thing.

Strawberry Girl

This is probably one of my favorite outfits so far. The hat and skirt are both way too big, but she's just so cute!

Claire is pretty expressive. She can go from totally devastated:

To laughing:

To imitating Zoolander in the space of about 10 seconds.

Claire posing for her first photo shoot

So, I tried to get Claire to smile, or at least not look angry, for a picture, but she refused:

though she did start yawning, which kind of looked like she was dancing or rapping or something:

So I gave up. And then I looked back over, and voila! Claire was posing like a tiny adorable little model. She even kept her eyes open. :)

Claire in Cherries

Grandma Fair has the best taste in clothes! I love cherries. And therefore, so does Claire.

tiny socks that look like shoes!
and i finally got dressed. yay!

Claire's 1st bath at home. She loved it.

apparently we have a duck theme going for bathtime. She's so cute.
